The FIFé Show system

First some general info about showing in FIFe

When you first arrive in the showhall you have to show your cats pedigee and vacination papers. These are checked by one of the clerks. Now the cat will be checked for contagious diseases and assured it is by good health by a veterinarian. Thereafter you will check in the cat(s) to some other clerks. You do this by showing them a check in card you have recieved in the mail some days before. It says the cats names, class and your name. Now everything is finally ready to enter the showhall with your cats. You may put up your decorations and let the cats into the showcage.

Your cat will have a number that tells when and were it's going to the judge. When your number is up, you take the cat to the judgestable. The judge will look at they cat from every angle and write a critic on your cat. Ig your cat has competitors in the same breed, colour, pattern, class and sex he will compare these cats and give the best one Ex1, a certificate or HP relating to which class the cat shown in.

If the judge thinks your cat is a good one acording to it's breed standard, he will probably call it back when it's time to take out the cats for nomination. The judge nominates a kitten 3-6 months, a kitten 6-10 months, an adult male, and adult female, a neutered male, a spayed female, a senior and a veteran. The nominated cats gets the qualification NOM. These cats will compete with cats nominated by other judges  in the same category and agegroup to get the qualificaton Best In Show, BIS. Among the adult cats (neuters and "whole" cats) a best in opposite sex, BOX, will be given as well

NOM and BIS will be given seperate in every category; for categorys look at  EMS codes

There will allso be given a NOM and BIS for the littes.

BIS breeder will be the one who has gotten most points on his/her cats during the catshow. The points are based on how the cats the breeder shows are doing on the catshow.

Based on the results from catshows, a Cat of the Year is elected. The one with the most points wins. Reed more here: Cat of the Year
